Abraham Lincoln was an awesome guy, so show it with this
T-shirt featuring cool neon colors and a unique retro feel!
I based the image of Lincoln on this shirt off of an engraving
made of him in 1860 - before he had a beard - that has
always been one of my favorites. I removed the striped
background from the engraving to give the shirt a more
modern feel, however, I left the dot and line pattern in
Lincoln's face intact. I carefully separated out the black
and white engraving into 3 different areas - background,
Lincoln's face, and hair, and played with making each area
a separate color until I got it right.
The goal was to create a modern, 80s-inspired "neon Lincoln"
that still retained the hand-drawn 1860 look. After
completing the image, I noticed that the words "awesome",
"Abraham", and "Lincoln" all had 7 letters in them (lucky -
three 7's!), so I laid down the words in a symmetrical pattern
around the image. Awesome, isn't it?
The design is screen printed onto a black, 100% cotton, American Apparel women's T-shirt. It's supersoft, made in the U.S.A., and sweatshop free, because Lincoln didn't believe in slavery.
This T-shirt is available in women's small, medium, large, X-large, and 2X-Large. It's also available in women's red, men's/unisex black, and men's/unisex red. The men's shirts use neon green and yellow, instead of lavender and pink. Pictures show women's medium size T-shirt. T-shirt shown is a sample; you will receive one that has never been worn. These T-shirts tend to run a little smaller than normal; if you're concerned about this, order the next size up.
Washing instructions: Machine wash and rinse inside out, in cold water, in the gentle cycle, with mild detergent. No bleach. Hang dry (recommended) or low/no heat in the dryer if necessary.
