I’m excited for this one. It’s a festival with a good lineup in the furthest city from Chicago I’ve been successful in. I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday. The hours and location are:
Saturday, May 18: Denver Coliseum, noon-1am
Sunday, May 19: Levitt Pavilion, noon-10
I imagine this will be much better (and more fun!) than the dinky little Denver festival (if you could call it that – it was more like a super expensive farmers market) that I was in last July. Looks like comfortable weather too.
As for Indianapolis – I will never return to that place. It was one of the worst experiences I have had with a city. It deserves the whole “Naptown”/”IndiaNoPlace” reputation that it has. At least I gave it a fair chance, despite my negative views of the place, and that’s all that matters.
Anyway, onward to Denver!
I seem to always have a good show in Minneapolis. It’s perhaps my favorite city aside from Chicago to do a show in, people there seem to respond well to my shirts. This photo was taken at the Minneapolis Pancakes & Booze Art Show on Friday. I love how he looks in this pink “Young Mr. Lincoln” shirt – I helped him pick it out actually!
I’m working on setting up a couple Minneapolis festivals in June.
My next festival, though, is in a city I’ve avoided thus far. Saturday from noon-10 and Sunday from noon-8 I’ll be at the Virginia Avenue Music Festival in Indianapolis. Never been there yet, just driven through, in part because I’ve always seen it as a bland, conservative place without much culture. I hope I’m wrong on that.
My first Chicago festival will be the Belmont Sheffield Music Festival Memorial Day weekend. I’m also mostly done with the new site – let me know what you think!
It’s festival season at last! This year will continue the trend I started last year of doing festivals every weekend in the different cities where I have been successful, and then some. I had a lot of fun traveling last year – and my shirts could become a regional or national brand eventually having been successful in many places. Interestingly, this year starts in Minneapolis, where last year’s season ended, and is one of my favorite cities besides Chicago.
A new design may be released in Minneapolis on May 3rd at the Pancakes & Booze Art Show at the Cabooze from 8pm-2am.
Full list will be kept up to date here: http://lincolnapparel.com/festivals-and-shows/
For far too long I’ve neglected updating the old Lincoln Apparel site. New designs have not been posted and inventory and prices have not been updated. This is mainly because it’s done in hand coded HTML which means it takes hours to update after a show or when I come out with a new design.
This is a new site based on WordPress that can be updated much more quickly. In addition, I’ve added a blog that will (hopefully) replace all my social media eventually. My thoughts fit much better in a few paragraphs on a blog than a social media snippet. And I hate what social media has done to society and the Web, blogs and independent websites are decentralized and what we need to take back the Internet from the massive corporations that currently control it.
Anyway, I’ll be posting about new designs, shows, and anything else Lincoln Apparel related that’s new here. The shop and photos page will be completed once I have access to my main machine again after the first weekend of festival season.
